Eric took the popular cruise on the Norwegian Sky from Seattle to Glacier Bay, Alaska the week of May 12-19, 2002.  The cruise also stops at the Alaskan port cities of Juneau, Skagway, Haines and Ketchikan, and at Victoria, British Columbia before returning to Seattle.  Eric was with an astronomy group that was hoping to see the Northern Lights during the cruise, as had been reported the previous two years.  Due to bad weather and diminishing solar activity, the Northern Lights were not visible, although Comet Ikeya-Zhang was spotted the first and last nights of the cruise.  Despite the astronomical disappointment, the daytime scenery was spectacular and the various tours (shore excursions) provided insight into the Alaskan way of life.

The following pages show photo compositions for each of the major locations visited during the cruise.  Please let Eric know if you would like to order high quality 8 x 10 prints of any of these photo compositions.

Juneau, Alaska and Mendenhall Glacier
Skagway, Alaska and White Pass
